Cold's Are The Worst...

The poor little guy has a cold.  We feel so bad for him and for us.  Long nights are brutal...

Leap Year...

Kim and I had a fabulous time today. Grandma and Grandpa watched Wyatt, while Kim and I went to lunch and saw the movie Leap Year. This is another standard "chick-flick,"  but I genuinely liked it. Perhaps the most meaningful element of the movie is the reminder that too often, we get caught up with "stuff," like materialistic wants. It just helped me remember that although I have a lot of ambitions in life, truly the most meaningful to me is Kim and Wyatt.

"Having a Good Time" with Wyatt...

So, Kim and I stopped at McDonalds for a quick bite and Wyatt, well, was pretty hyper!

Facebook...

Well, I've finally done it. If you happen to be on Facebook, look me up and you'll find me. Am I the last person I know to join Facebook?

Let The Weight Loss Begin...

January for the last several years have represented the drive to lose weight and get healthier. In 2009, I had a pretty good go at it when I list 55lbs in 12 weeks. However, like so many, I play the yo-yo game, unfortunately and have gained most of it back.  Although last year is a depressing defeat, I learned a lot about myself and how to be successful. I have a huge goal this year to lose weight and keep it off. I set the deadline to lose my determined weight by July, however, I think I'll get there by my birthday in May. I can't tell you how many times I have been down this road, its frustrating. I mean, losing weight is realtively simple to understand, but mastering the will power for it has me fighting this consistent battle, year after year. Well, time will tell, but I am at critical point that if I don't overcome this challenge in my life, I will be in trouble, real health trouble.

Welcoming The New Year...

Nothing like a good ol' game of The Settlers of Catan to reign in the new year! Well, Happy New Year! I was talking to Kim tonight and she mentioned that I've had quite a decade. Among the biggest highlights would be the following:

-Graduated from high school
-Completed a two year mission in England
-Got married
-Bought a home
-Graduated with my Associate and Undergraduate degrees
-Wyatt joined the family

When I stop and think about it, a lot has happened in the last 10 years. I wonder what I will have experienced in ten more years.

The Mobile Experiment...

Welcome to my Mobile Blog! Actually, this is simply a regular blogger site, but I have set it up so I am able to blog by using my new MyTouch 3G android phone that I got throgh T-Mobile. I actually really like this phone for many reasons and if you are a T-Mobile customer, I would recommend you checking this phone out. Anyway, about this blog. I enjoy blogging, however, I don't always have the time for it. That is why I created my "Mobile Matto" blog. It don't intend for this blog to take over my regular blog, instead this blog will most likely be more simple and something I use when I am out nd about or away from my computer. So don't forget about my main site at: www.matto-catchingup.blogspot.com.

Well, 2009 is coming to an end and we Yvette zero plans for how to celebrate the new year. As many of you know, we are not the party-type and we'll probably end up doing something that we never really planned. For me, the new year isn't so much about celebration as it is resolution. Every year I seem to set out on the same or similar goals as I had the previous year and like most of you, I rarely look back on accomplishments. This is because at some point between January and December I have fallen off the wagon and look to get back on in the new year. For this reason, new years resolutions are a bit of.a waste. Therefore, this year, I will be setting "New Life" resolutions that focus on real change in lifestyle choices. The changes that I have in mind are challenging and similar to some of the years prior, but I need a long-term focus. I have some pretty lofty goals tat I hope to achieve in life and in order for me to reach them, I will fundamentally have to make some major changes this year. Change is difficult because it reduces the certainty in a person, however, change is necessary if we are going to progress. When it comes to achieving goals, what I struggle with, perhaps more than anything, is my tendency to procrastinate and become inconsistent. I don't know what will happen in 2010, but I am sure that where I end up will largely depend on what I do. Hopefully I will have worked hard on the fundamentals I have determined necessary for a satisfying life; otherwise, I'll be depressed in deed.
